Tawna King is a gifted vocalist. After Tawna was “discovered” at a local piano bar open mic night, her love of music blossomed from an early addiction into a serious singing career. She studied privately under a instructor of Peabody Preparatory, Baltimore’s premiere community school for the performing arts, and has been classically trained in Opera. Personal and business commitments temporarily prevented her from following the career path in Opera her teachers had urged to pursue. In 2007, a victory over a life-threatening disease gave Tawna a new perspective on life, and she decided to pursue music once again.

"Her range is extraordinary," stated John R., Peabody Prep instructor, describing it as a "rare" coloratura with an extended bottom register. Music aficionados recognize this as a full vocal range - including the "breaking glass" range above high soprano - a very rare trait to be found in any voice.

Tawna hopes to soon start work on her first demo CD with Jazz and Blues-inspired originals, and pursue a career as a solo singer. She currently works as a part time DJ/KJ show host and also fulfills requests to sing at numerous weddings, funerals, parties, and many other events throughout the year.
